Rui Hachimura is a rookie in professional basketball. Hachimura has been in the league since 2019, his agility on the court and his consistency in playing has him signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. Rui is a small forward that can help run plays, is a threat in the paint and can shoot three-pointers on a consistent basis. Rui initially decided to go play for the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the US. He then realised that he would have to take a different approach than most players. He made his debut for Gonzaga in November 2016 but got very little playtime. Rui was considered to be one of the elite international players joining the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

After his successful college year, Rui decided to try his luck in the NBA. He was picked by the Washington Wizards at 9th overall in the NBA draft of 2019.

In Washington, Hachimura was one of the younger guys on the team. He was an integral part of their rotation and had become a very familiar name in the league. Not only was Hachimura one of the main forwards, he was a great asset to the team playing for them 2023. Hachimura helped the team with the overall offense and also improved every year, sitting out some seasons due to injuries.
