After multiple reports of Kevin Love and the Cleveland Cavaliers working on a buyout, the Phoenix Suns have emerged as a possible landing spot for the veteran star. ESPN's Brian Windhorst has reported that the Suns could potentially sign the shooting big man once his buyout is final.

"A team in the Western Conference that I'd keep an eye out for, the Phoenix Suns. The Suns have been doing some background research into Kevin, over the last 24 hours. And don't forget, James Jones, the team president, was teammates with [Kevin] Love when they won the championship in 2016 with the Cavs."
"The new-look Suns have a roster spot, have a bunch of money they can still pay to free agents. So, keep an eye on the Suns as a contender for Kevin Love."

Kevin Love could be the final piece to the Suns' title push

Earlier this week, reports were final that the Suns had signed Terrence Ross after he was bought out by the Orlando Magic. Now, with rumors ensuing that the team could go after the five-time All-Star, they will increase their chances at winning the Larry O'Brien trophy.

Love has enough playoff and championship experience that could be pivotal for the team.

The potential addition of Kevin Love by the Suns adds depth to their bench

After trading away Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson and Jae Crowder to the Brooklyn Nets at the deadline, the Suns' depth took a hit. All three players were vital to their success in the previous season, even with Crowder sitting out this season.

Luckily for the Suns, they were able to get TJ Warren in the mix and now he's reunited with Devin Booker. Still, that wasn't enough. That's why they went after Ross after his buyout agreement was final. They're currently investing a ton in being a rumored destination for Love.

The former fifth overall pick is a well-experienced bigman and is a capable floor stretcher. When healthy, Love can be a huge help on the offensive end. His underrated passing has helped generate points for guys like LeBron James and Kyrie Irving in the past.

He's not a washed player, not yet. Just last season, he ended his 2021-22 campaign as a finalist in the Sixth Man of the Year. Off the bench, Love was able to create shots from the post and the perimeter, making him a deadly offensive weapon.
