Steph Curry should consider joining a new team this season in pursuit of a fifth NBA championship. NBA insider Kevin O'Connor has suggested the Denver Nuggets and the San Antonio Spurs.

A possible pairing in Denver with three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic is intriguing, and so is a pairing with superstar Victor Wembanyama in San Antonio. The 2024 Rookie of the Year and current front-runner for Defensive Player of the Year stands at 7-foot-4 inches, making him one of the tallest players in the NBA.

Wembanyama uses his length on the defensive side of the floor as he averages close to four blocks a game, nearly 1.5 blocks more than Walker Kessler, who is second in the league (2.5 bpg).

The defensive prowess of Wembanyama, mixed with the all-time great shooting and offensive prowess of Curry, would be a game-planning nightmare for opposing coaches and would instantly catapult the team into contention. It would also be a dream for most NBA fans to see those two stars on the same jersey competing for a ring.

Steph Curry and the Warriors search for answers

The 2024-25 season has not been kind to Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors despite a flaming hot start to the season.

The Warriors started the year winning 12 of their first 15 games. Fans wondered if offseason acquisitions like Buddy Hield and Kyle Anderson were perfect role players to place around Curry for another championship run. Fast forward to 2025, and the Warriors have struggled since their 12-3 start, going 7-17 over their next 24 games.

Now sitting at 19-20, Golden State owns a losing record for the first time this season. The team also fell from the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference to outside of a play-in tournament spot at 12th. The 24-game stretch has the whole Warriors team, including Curry, looking for answers.

"We want to be in that position where we want to be relevant in a championship-type of chase," Curry said. "But it doesn't mean we're getting desparate. It's better to be kinda patient, understanding what that looks like."

Curry understands that the league is a business and that mortgaging the organization's future for a win-now run isn't the most business-savvy move, even if it might be what helps his career and the current Warriors team the most.
