Jewell Loyd had one of the best seasons of her career with the Seattle Storm last year, highlighted by her selection to Team USA for the 2024 Olympics. Now that she is looking for a trade out of Seattle this offseason, teams are preparing to make their best offer to add her to their roster. One of the front runners to do so is Angel Reese's Chicago Sky.
According to an ESPN report on Thursday, the Sky will be a top landing spot for Loyd because she fills the hole left by leading scorer Chennedy Carter.
The Sky didn't extend a qualifying offer to Carter this offseason, likely because of the rift between her and the coaching staff. Loyd has averaged over 15 points a game over the last five years of her career and could pick up Carter's slack for the Sky.
Loyd is asking for a trade from the Seattle Storm after her complaints against head coach Noelle Quinn and the rest of the coaching staff. She accused them of bullying and harassing her last season, but the investigation yielded no results, according to CBS Sports.

At 31, Jewell Loyd is on the older side, especially for a guard in the WNBA. However, the Sky are one of the younger teams in the league, led by the sophomore combination of Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso.
Loyd brings in one of the best resumes of any player in the WNBA and could emerge as the team's veteran leader as they look to return to the postseason.
If Jewell Loyd doesn't sign with the Chicago Sky, where else could she go in a trade?
Loyd doesn't have the same freedom as this year's free agents, largely because her destination isn't up to her. The Storm are looking for the best return in a trade involving her and will have a high asking price. Among the teams that could put together an attractive package for Loyd is the Las Vegas Aces, who are looking for a replacement for Kelsey Plum.
The Aces have the draft capital and young players to entice the Storm in trade talks, but they aren't the only team that can put together a good package. The Los Angeles Sparks are also expected to be aggressive in the trade market this offseason and have a slew of younger players to shop, headlined by Rae Burrell and Zia Cooke.
