ESPN's André Snellings proposed a trade that would ship Julius Randle, a new member of the Minnesota Timberwolves, for a scoring guard. The Wolves have gradually improved their performance this season with a 21-18 record. However, many experts believe that a change in their roster is still needed as the season gets harder.
Before the season began, Randle was traded by the New York Knicks for Karl-Anthony Towns, an All-Star big man. However, only one of the two players had a fruitful time on their new team. Randle has played 39 games, averaging 19.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists on 35.0% from deep.
His numbers have dropped significantly from last season, where he averaged 24.0 ppg, 9.2 rpg and 5.0 apg. Snellings proposed that the Wolves move on from Randle and acquire Coby White from the Chicago Bulls.
The analyst's plan included a three-team deal with the Utah Jazz. Minnesota will give up Randle and forward Jaden McDaniels in exchange for White and John Collins from the Jazz. The Bulls, meanwhile, will acquire the lefty All-Star forward and reunite him with Jordan Clarkson.

Utah will receive McDaniels, Lonzo Ball and Chris Duarte to complete the trade.
White is in the middle of a three-year, $36 million deal with the Bulls and is set to earn $12 million this season. The guard won't be a free agent until the end of the 2025-26 NBA season. While the Wolves will potentially lose a frontcourt contributor in the proposed trade, they'll acquire an 18.5 ppg guard ready to contribute.
Additionally, Collins adds a scoring punch with his 17.9 ppg this season. Much like Randle, the Jazz forward can also stretch the defense but better. The 6-foot-9 high flyer is shooting 43.8% from deep this season, a better percentage than the current Wolves star.
Julius Randle linked to a Western Conference team
There have been a few trade proposals involving Julius Randle this season. One of the teams linked to Randle is the Sacramento Kings. In one proposal with the Kings, the Wolves' backcourt will heavily improve by trading away the three-time All-Star for guard De'Aaron Fox.
While Fox has not asked for a trade out of Sacramento, their souring situation has led to teams inquiring about his availability.
"Among interested teams, there is a strong belief that Fox is more likely to be available this summer rather than before the Feb. 6 trade deadline," Sam Amick of The Athletic wrote.
Pairing Fox with Anthony Edwards will improve the scoring and the team's backcourt.
