Division rivals Sacramento Kings and LA Lakers square off Saturday at the Crypto.com Arena. The Kings are off to an 0-1 start after enduring a close 117-115 loss to the Timberwolves in their season opener. Meanwhile, the Lakers are 2-0 after impressive wins over Minnesota (110-103) on opening night and the Suns (123-116) on Friday.
However, the Kings have been an Achilles for the Lakers. In their past eight meetings, Sacramento has a 7-1 head-to-head advantage and five consecutive wins. Domantas Sabonis has caused all sorts of troubles for LA's best player, Anthony Davis, while De'Aaron Fox and Malik Monk have been a handful, too.
Nevertheless, the Lakers are schematically looking as good as any team out there. New coach JJ Redick has hit the ground running with his playcalling, and the players have been executing those plans to a tee.
The Kings still hold a matchup and rest advantage, with LA playing on the second night of a back-to-back, so this should be an exciting matchup between the two California-based teams.
