Saddiq Bey is a 6'7" small forward who has a remarkable shooting touch. Since being drafted by the Brooklyn Nets 19th overall in 2020, Bey has developed into a versatile two-way player. His rookie season was nothing short of impressive as he averaged 12.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists a game on shooting 40.4% from the field, including 38.0% from beyond the arc.
Bey’s strengths are his agility, wingspan, and on-court awareness. He is a reliable catch-and-shoot player and a good on-ball defender. The former Big East All-Freshman had a breakout season following a decent showing in his first year. He played and started all 82 games for the Detroit Pistons in the 2021/22 season, averaging 16.1 points, 5.4 boards, 2.8 assists, and 0.9 steals per game.

Saddiq Bey College
Saddiq Bey played two seasons of college basketball for Villanova University. Following his graduation from Sidwell Friends School, Bey was a four-star recruit and was ranked the 83rd best player of his class. Being a well-rounded athlete, he received offers from popular Division I programs UConn, Oklahoma State and South Florida. However, on June 15, 2018, Bey committed to playing for the Villanova Wildcats.
Freshman Season
Bey debuted for the Villanova Wildcats in the season-opener against Morgan State and scored 16 points along with four rebounds. In his first college season, he provided valuable support as a rebounder and perimeter defender, averaging nearly one steal per game.
During the Conference Championship games, Bey averaged 9.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and one steal per game. His contributions ended up playing an important role for the Wildcats as they went on to beat Seton Hall to win their seventh conference title and third consecutive scoring title. The Wildcats made it to the NCAA round of 32 but got eliminated by Purdue.
Sophomore Season
Bey’s performances took a significant leap in his sophomore season. After averaging 8.2 points in his freshman season, Bey upped his numbers to 16.1 points as a sophomore. He shot an impressive 45.1% from deep in the 2019/20 college season. Moreover, his excellent performances during the conference championship games helped him secure the Julius Erving Award, making him the third Villanova player to earn the honor in the past six seasons.
