During a 10-year career in the NBA, Carroll has had spells with the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, Atlanta Hawks, and Toronto Raptors.
He has spent the past two seasons with the Brooklyn Nets and is coming off a campaign in which he averaged 11.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 40 percent from the floor.
Carroll will turn 33 in July, but the Spurs believe that he can make a significant impact from the bench over the next two seasons.
