The San Antonio Spurs compete in the Southwest Division of the Western Conference in the NBA. Gregg Popovich is the head coach of the team and they play their home games at the Frost Bank Center.

In the 2022/23 season, the San Antonio Spurs (22-60) had the worst record in the league. As a result, they won the draft lottery and picked French sensation Victor Wembanyama with the first overall pick.

At 7 feet 4 inches, Wemby is regarded by many as the best prospect since LeBron James in 2003. For his size, he handles the ball really well and can also shoot the long ball. Before the NBA, he played for the Metropolitans 92 in the Pro A League in France, where he led the league in points, rebounds and blocks.

They faced the New Jersey Nets in the Finals, who they defeated in six games. Tim Duncan was named NBA MVP and the Finals MVP of the season.

In 2005, the Spurs lifted their third NBA title in seven years after defeating defending champions Detroit Pistons in the Finals. Tim Duncan became the fourth NBA player in history to receive the Finals MVP award thrice after Micheal Jordan, Shaquille-O-Neal, and Magic Johnson.

The San Antonio Spurs won their fourth NBA title after they defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2007. Tony Parker was named Finals MVP and was the first European to win the award. He averaged 25.6 ppg in the Finals.
