The LA Lakers return to action for the first time since Tuesday after their 119-87 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. With one of the worst natural disasters hitting the city, LA's past couple of games have been postponed, including one of the games against the San Antonio Spurs. Nevertheless, fans won't have to wait that long to see this epic clash as the teams' scheduled game on Monday is expected to proceed.
The Lakers have had a significant break amid a busy schedule as their last two games got postponed, giving them much-needed time to regroup after consecutive losses on their two-game Texas road trip against Houston and Dallas. With a 4-4 record in their past eight games, the Lakers need a win against the Spurs, and it's the ideal opportunity.
As good as San Antonio has been during its peak, Victor Wembanyama and Co. have struggled for consistency. The Spurs are coming off three consecutive losses against the Nuggets, Bulls and Bucks. On top of lacking momentum, the Spurs also don't have a head-to-head advantage over the Lakers after losing their home games to LeBron James and Co. earlier this year.
