Victor Wembanyama has been the talk of the basketball world heading up to the 2023 NBA draft. It appears as if the sky is the limit for the 18-year-old French big man.

Wembanyama has been playing overseas with the Metropolitans 92. Listed at 7-foot-4, the talented big man was a preseason favorite to be one of the top selections in the upcoming NBA draft. Then, Wembanyama has put forth eye-opening production with his play this season.

With a rumored 8-foot wingspan, Wembanyama has the frame to be a physically imposing shot blocker. But he's also a dynamic weapon on the offensive side of the ball. Wembanyama has the two-way versatility to be a superstar at the NBA level. He's drawn plenty of comparisons to superstars such as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant.

With his size and the ability to shoot from well beyond 3-point range, Wembanyama could be a generational talent. It's now viewed as almost a certainty that Victor will be the top prize for the 2023 NBA draft lottery. In an article by Forbes, one anonymous agent said that Wembanyama has the tools to be "the greatest player ever," if he stays healthy:

“If he’s not hurt, he’ll be the greatest player ever. He’s the best player in the league and the level of players he’s playing against are the best players in the Pac-12, the best college players, borderline NBA guys — and he’s dominating."

Victor Wembanyama has become a global phenomenon in the basketball world. It's only a countdown until his unique talent reaches the NBA level.

Wembanyama has been sensational overseas this season. In his last 10 league games, Victor is averaging 24.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 3.5 blocks per game. During that span, Wembanyama is shooting 52.1%, including 30.2% from 3-point range.

NBA teams are always smitten at the idea of versatility from draft prospects. For Wembanyama, that's going to be his calling card. With the size of a shot-blocking big man, Wembanyama will present problems for opposing players in the lane.

But his fluidity on the court will offer excitement for his potential. Wembanyama has the ball-handling and offensive skills of a guard. He's going to be a potential franchise-altering piece for whichever NBA team lands the top pick in the draft.

The lottery will take place on May 16, and the draft will be held on June 22.
