Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a Canadian professional basketball player who plays for the OKC Thunder in the NBA. As a senior in high school, Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 18.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. He played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats and he became the regular starting point guard for the team and led them to the NCAA tournament.

Gilgeous-Alexander was drafted 11th overall by the Charlotte Hornets in 2018 but was traded to the LA Clippers on the same night. After a respectable rookie season with the Clippers, he was traded to the OKC Thunder, where he is the starting point guard. RJ Barrett and Gilgeous-Alexander led the team from the front, and powerful forwards like Dillion Brooks and Zach Edey were at their best in defending the perimeter. In the group stages, Gilgeous-Alexander helped Canada win all their matches, winning a qualifying berth for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
