With the consensus greatest quarterback of all time poised to return to the field, things back home took a turn for the worse.
It was recently confirmed that Tom Brady and supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen were officially beginning divorce proceedings. Some mocked Tom Brady for picking sports over his family. On The Big Podcast, NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal spoke about the situation. The way Big Diesel sees things, it's hard when two incredibly successful celebrities get into a relationship because of their busy schedules. He spoke about the situation beginning at the 39-minute mark, saying:

"We've seen this narrative with celebrity marriages. Once you start competing with each other, it's over.
"So the statement that you made, 'I sacrificed,' bro, 'I'm a professional football player,' 'honey I'm a model.' You have to sacrifice for each other, and once one person gives up that sacrifice then it's gonna start going down. I don't think that's enough to get a divorce."
The situation is an incredibly rocky one. Given that the pair has two children together, things are likely to get worse before they get better. Brady is on a mission to lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the Super Bowl. He will likely have some juggling as he works through the divorce proceedings.

Shaquille O'Neal is speaking from experience. The NBA Hall of Famer has notoriously described himself as a serial cheater. He said that the downfall of his marriage to Shaunie O'Neal was entirely his fault.
O'Neal has been open about the fact that the divorce from Shaunie O'Neal cost him valuable time with his kids. At fifty years old, Shaquille O'Neal seems to regret that the pair split over a decade ago.
Although Tom Brady has not detailed the marriage fallout publicly, fans are anxious to hear his side. There hasn't been any indication that the divorce parallels O'Neal's story. However, many believe his return to football is to blame.
