Skip Bayless gets ridiculed by fans after reportedly wanting FS1 to fix feud with Shannon Sharpe

Skip Bayless announced Friday that the day’s episode of Undisputed was his last with FS1 and he was leaving Fox after eight years. While the analyst didn’t specify the reasons for leaving, there have been several speculations and reports regarding the exit.

Front Office Sports’ Michael McCarthy published a report that claimed the exit might have something to do with Shannon Sharpe leaving the show last summer. McCarthy said, via Legion Hoops:

“REPORT: Skip Bayless was disappointed at being pushed out of FS1 and blames the network for not fixing feud with Shannon Sharpe.”

Fans had a field day reacting to the report on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“He's washed, rinsed, and repeated at this point.”

Several fans pointed out that the feud was between Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe, hence, it wasn’t Fox’s job to fix it. In fact, most fans agreed that the feud was Bayless’s fault.

“You started the feud why you asking someone else to fix it lmaoo,” a fan wrote.
“He let his fandom for Brady destroy his relationship with Shannon so he shouldn’t blame anyone but himself,” another said.
“Blames the network? No one made him disrespect Shannon’s HOF career,” a fan said.

A few fans also took the time to troll Bayless over what he said about his analyst team after Sharpe had left the show.

“He was just calling his new cast ‘The Dream Team,’” a fan said.
“He's made tens of millions of dollars to act like a clown for years. Take the L and go travel for the rest of your life, Skip,” another said.

What happened between Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe?

While Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe had been going at each other for years, the final nail on the coffin for their relationship could have been the Damar Hamlin incident on Jan. 2, 2023. After Hamlin went down during a game between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, Bayless took issue with the postponement of the game that late into the season.

Sharpe reportedly refused to show up to work the next day as he took offense with his work partner’s tweet. Being a former football player himself, Sharpe understood the urgency of the situation and that Hamlin’s health took precedence over everything else.

When Shannon Sharpe did return and was citing his reason for his absence the previous day, Skip Bayless interrupted him and said:

“I’m not gonna take it down because I stand by what I tweeted. … Nobody here had a problem with that tweet.”

Sharpe subsequently left the show on May 31, 2023, and later joined ESPN, where he currently works as an analyst.
