Slovenia, a country with a population of just 2.1 million, will be the smallest nation by current population to participate in an Olympic men’s basketball tournament since Estonia and Latvia in 1936. It is Slovenia’s first-ever ticket to the Olympics since the separation of Yugoslavia. Slovenia will compete in Group C alongside host nation Japan, Argentina and Spain.
