Too Short not worried about Golden State Warriors championship prospects, rants about disrespect team gets

Rapper Too Short is not worried about his beloved Golden State Warriors' chances of winning another championship. The Warriors have been disappointing this season. They are 15-18 entering their Christmas Day game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Starters Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins have been sidelined due to injuries during the team's 2-7 run over the last nine games. Too Short has backed his favorite team to win another chip amid their struggles. Here's what he told TMZ about this:

"They were not perceived as a championship team since KD [Kevin Durant left], and what happened last year, pi*sed a lot of people off. That the Warriors started playing good at the very end of the season, looked good in the playoffs and then won it."

The rapper ranted about the Golden State Warriors not getting their flowers in their non-Kevin Durant years. But that didn't stop the Warriors from being a great team and winning their fourth ring in eight years, their second without KD last season. Citing their unbelievable runs from the past, Too Short said he isn't worried about the team's championship prospects now or ever.

"I'm not ever worried about the Warriors."

The Warriors entered last season as the underdogs but beat the odds in emphatic style. However, they were solid from the get-go, which isn't the case now. The Dubs haven't had such a losing start to the year with a healthy roster at their disposal for a decent stretch, so they will have to fight the odds again to be considered a legitimate threat.

Golden State Warriors continue to have a target on their back as defending champions

The Golden State Warriors don't have the depth they had during their previous finals runs. They have become top-heavy like some other struggling contenders, as they have to rely on their superstars and main rotation group to win consistently.

The Warriors are without their best player Steph Curry. He has missed the last four games and is reportedly getting re-evaluated in two weeks. To make things worse, the Warriors, as the defending champions, will continue to have a target on their back.

Every team that takes the Dubs at home will likely play harder and also give them a run for their money on the road. The Warriors' 3-16 record on the road is a testament to rival teams probably marking their calendars for games against Steve Kerr's team.

Contenders around the league are aware of the threat the Golden State Warriors possess in the postseason, so they are likely to make sure their journey to make the playoffs becomes difficult moving forward.
