Things continue to go south for the Dallas Mavericks this season after it was revealed that guard Dante Exum broke a bone in his left hand during their game against the Houston Rockets on Friday and is out indefinitely. Fans picked up the development and lamented the team's fate this season.

Exum, who is in the final year of the two-year, $6,150,000 contract he signed with the Mavs in July 2023, was the latest player to go down with an injury.

He joined All-Star guard Kyrie Irving (knee) and forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper (wrist), who are already out for the season; forward Anthony Davis (adductor) and centers Dereck Lively II (ankle) and Daniel Gafford (knee) whose availability for the remainder of the season remains uncertain. Also dealing with injuries are P.J. Washington and Jaden Hardy.

"Patience... For me, it's just how important rest is so you can make the right decisions," Kidd said via ClutchPoints.com. "We're taking hits, we're staying together," he added.

The Mavericks traded Luka Doncic around the trade deadline last month for a package that included fellow All-NBA Team member Anthony Davis. However, Davis got injured (adductor) in his first game as a Maverick, before Kyrie Irving went down with a season-ending knee injury.
