Gerald is not as decorated as his older brother, spending 13 seasons in the NBA, most of them with the New York Knicks. He had a career average of 13 points, 2.9 rebounds and three assists.

He was consistently at the forefront of the Knicks' arsenal, second-leading the team in scoring behind Patrick Ewing. Gerald is the father of former Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Damien Wilkins. Gerald and Dominique got to play together for the first time in the 1998-99 NBA season for the Orlando Magic.
