The Miami Heat and Memphis Grizzlies punched their ticket to the 2024 NBA Summer League on Sunday. Both teams had a perfect record of 5-0 and will battle it out for supremacy on July 22 in Las Vegas, Nevada. But who will be the MVP of the tournament?

Jordan Miller of the LA Clippers should be the favorite to win the award after tantalizing performances this summer. Scotty Pippen Jr. has impressed and broken triple-double records, so he should get some consideration as well plus the Memphis Grizzlies in the final.

Houston Rockets prized pick Reed Shepperd has also impressed, while fellow rookie Kel'el Ware of the Miami Heat has been great on both sides of the ball. Let's look at the five frontrunners to win this year's Summer League MVP award.

#5 - Kel'el Ware | Center | Miami Heat

The Miami Heat has a chance to win the 2024 NBA Summer League championship if they beat the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday. One of the main reasons why the Heat are in the final is due to rookie Kel'el Ware.

Ware has been fantastic in Las Vegas, averaging 17.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.6 blocks in five games. He might not win the Summer League MVP, but will likely take home the championship game MVP if the Heat wins the title.

#4 - Reed Sheppard | Guard | Houston Rockets

Reed Sheppard could have been higher on the list if the Houston Rockets had a better record than 2-3. Sheppard also sat out the final game of the 2024 NBA Summer League against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Nevertheless, the No. 3 pick of the 2024 NBA Draft is seemingly ready for the bright lights. He averaged 20.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. He appears ready to contribute to a very young Rockets team next season.

#3 - Scotty Pippen Jr. | Guard | Memphis Grizzlies

Scotty Pippen Jr. dropped a triple-double in the Memphis Grizzlies' win over the LA Clippers to punch their ticket to the 2024 NBA Summer League championship game. Pippen had 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, which was his sixth triple-double in his Summer League career, a record.

Pippen is averaging 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 3.2 steals per game in Las Vegas. He has seemingly carved out a nice role next season as a backup point guard for the Grizzlies. He also played well last season when the team was ravaged by injuries.

#2 - Jalen Wilson | Forward | Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets finished the 2024 NBA Summer League with a record of 3-2. Their most impressive player is second-year forward Jalen Wilson, who averaged 21.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.

Wilson comes in behind Jordan Miller since one of Brooklyn's losses in Las Vegas was against the LA Clippers. Nevertheless, his performance in the tournament should give the rebuilding Nets another piece to use next season.

Jordan Miller of the LA Clippers is the likely favorite to win the 2024 NBA Summer League MVP. Miller led the Clippers to a 4-1 record in Las Vegas after averaging 25.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

But what sets Miller apart is his efficiency in all five games played. He shot 54.9% from the field, including a whopping 60.0% from beyond the arc with 2.4 makes per game. He also went to the free throw line 9.2 times per game and shot 80.4%
