Trae Young is a professional basketball player from the United States as of November 2024, he is playing for the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA. He was born on September 19, 1998, in Lubbock, Texas, where he played college basketball with the Oklahoma Sooners. Young stands at 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 meters) tall and weighs 164 pounds (74 kg), primarily taking on the role of point guard. Young was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks as the fifth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft but was subsequently traded to the Atlanta Hawks, where he made his debut in the league.

In April 2021, Trae Young suffered a left ankle injury that sidelined him for four games between April 23, 2021, and April 29, 2021, while playing for the Atlanta Hawks. The injury occurred during a game against the New York Knicks on April 21, 2021, in which the Hawks lost 137-127.

After undergoing an MRI, Young was diagnosed with a lateral left ankle sprain as per the Hawk's post on X. He made his return on April 30, 2021, in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers as per Basketball Reference.

Hand (February 2024 - April 2024)

In February 2024, Trae Young sustained a torn ligament in the fifth finger of his left hand, forcing him to miss 23 games from February 25, 2024, to April 9, 2024. According to the NBA's report, Young injured his left hand on February 23, 2024, and an MRI later confirmed a torn radial collateral ligament (RCL).

He underwent surgery on February 27 at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York as per the Hawks' announcement. Trae Young returned to the court on April 11, 2024, wearing a black wrap on his left hand finger per the NBA.
