Trae Young plays as a starting point guard for the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA. The 6 ft 1 in tall point guard is known for his elite ball-handling, passing, teardrop floater shots and hitting off-the-dribble long-range 3-point shots. Due to his shot-making in clutch time, fans have nicknamed him "Ice Trae.” Trae Young hails from Lubbock, Texas, where he attended Norman North High School, and emerged as a social media sensation as many started comparing him to Steph Curry because he could knock down shots from way beyond the 3-point line.

After high school, Trae Young had an amazing freshman season where he became the first player in history to lead the NCAA season in both points and assists. As of October 2024, Trae Young is a three-time All-Star and led the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021. In the 2023/24 season, Trae Young averaged 26.5 points, career-high 5.5 rebounds, 10.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He shot 39.1% from the field, including 29.7% from deep.

Trae Young wears #11 on his jerseys because it has a special meaning for him. Young confirmed that he used to wear number 3 early in his high school days because he was a big fan of Allen Iverson, a player he admired and whose style influenced his game. However, Young switched to wearing number 11 during his sophomore year of high school and felt that everything began falling into place after the change. Once he started wearing 11, he began receiving college offers, marking the start of his journey toward a professional basketball career. Since then, Young has stuck with number 11 as his signature number. (via Atlanta Hawks on Sports Illustrated)
