Tyrese Haliburton is a professional basketball player from the United States, playing as a point guard for the Indiana Pacers. He was born on February 29, 2000, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, U.S. Haliburton attended Oshkosh North High School. During his sophomore and junior seasons, he was named to the All-Fox Valley Association Second Team and Defensive Team. Haliburton earned the All-Fox Valley Association Player of the Year and the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Division I All-State accolades. He earned the Oshkosh Northwestern All-Area Player of the Year, Wisconsin Gatorade Player of the Year, and All-Fox Valley Association co-Player of the Year honours. He was chosen for both the USA Today All-USA Wisconsin First Team and the WBCA Division I All-State Team. He graduated in 2018.

Haliburton went to Iowa State University in 2018 and played for the Iowa State Cyclones Men’s Basketball Team. He was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team in 2020. During his sophomore season, he averaged 15.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. Haliburton majored in business at Iowa State and forfeited his remaining collegiate basketball eligibility when he was selected by the Sacramento Kings in twelfth overall in the 2020 NBA Draft after his sophomore season.

Tyrese Haliburton’s Gold Medal

As of August 2024, Tyrese Haliburton has achieved one gold medal in the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup in Greece. He represented the United States and his averages were 7.9 points and 6.9 assists per game, leading the tournament in assists, and shooting 69 percent from the field. He was named to the All-Tournament Team's All-Star Five. He does not yet own any Olympic medals. As of August 2024, he is competing for the USA Men’s Basketball Team in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Haliburton competed for the United States Men’s Basketball Team at the 2023 FIBA Men’s World Cup in Pasay, Philippines, where he recorded 69 points, 45 assists, 24 rebounds, 9 blocks, 11 turnovers, and 12 steals. He also participated in the training camp for the 2021 USA Select Team in Las Vegas.
