The Chennai Slam became the first side to book a place in the final of the UBA 2015 Championship after they defeated the Punjab Steelers 92-77 in the first semifinal at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
Right from the opening quarter it was a pulsating contest between the two teams as they matched one another point-for-point. But it was the Steelers who had the upper hand at the end of the opening 10 minutes with a 23-19 lead.

The second quarter though saw the Slam come out all guns blazing as they put the Steelers on the backfoot with their aggressive play. Deservedly, they finished the half with a 12-point lead at 48-36.
The other side of the half saw the Slams continue their dominance while the Steelers struggled to put together enough points. They men from Punjab eventually trailed their opponents by a massive margin of 19 points at 53-72.
Thr fourth and final quarter saw a similar tale unfold as the Slams, lead by Vignesh with 24 points, progressed through to the summit clash.
Final Score: Chennai Slam92 (Vignesh 24, Ramkumar 19, Agu 15) beat Punjab Steelers 77 (Sartaj 28, Ravi 20).
