Manuel Ginobli, San Antonio Spurs and Argentina:“I had a 24 hour period of uncertainty but to tell you the truth I knew that sooner of later we were going to figure it out and that it was going to happen. So I was not planning on ending this relationship and I don’t think they were either. We got a great bond, we appreciate each other enormously, so I kind of knew it was going to happen.”,
“I am very proud to be one of those players that plays 13 years on the same team, with 2 team mates and a coach, it’s an unbelievable story in sports nowadays, it’s not something that happens often and my idea was always to finish my career at Spurs. Of course when I got there the first time, I didn’t know it was going to happen but as the seasons got going then my dream was always to finish my career there and not only that, but with Tim, with Tony and with Pop as a coach, it would be a great story.”
“I think we always have a shot. We have good players, a great front office and a great coaching staff. And every year people starting counting us off and you know then after sixty games we are still on top or we are in the top 3 and I think its going to keep going like this. I really trust everybody on my team, I trust who they are going to sign. I think Kawhi Leonard is going to be a huge impact from now on, even more. I think he was our best player in the final and he’s going to keep improving, so I truly believe we have a shot.”
