Sports in India for a long time has revolved around cricket. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni etc were the ones who garnered all the attention while other sports such as basketball, football etc stayed behind the limelight.
However, 26th June 2015 could be the day when all of that could change. The reason? A 19-year-old from a small village in Punjab, Satnam Singh Bhamara, who became the first Indian basketball player to be drafted into the NBA on Friday, after the Dallas Mavericks picked the 7-feet 2-inch player as the 52nd pick of the 2015 Draft.
