AJ Clayton is a six feet-seven-inch, 195-pound Power Forward from Duncan Falls. Before attending Ohio University and representing Ohio Bobcats as a power forward, AJ attended Philo High School.

While he was at Philo, AJ was a four-star recruit and ranked the 43rd-best power forward in the country and the eighth-best player in the state of Ohio on the ESPN 2022 List.
While at Philo High School, he averaged 23.6 points and 13.6 rebounds per game. He was named Second Team All-Ohio, Ohio District 12 Player of The Year, and Muskingum Valley League Player of the Year.
Since AJ had the intention of playing Division One basketball, he decided to forgo his senior year in High School and accepted the offer from Ohio University.

AJ Clayton arrived at Ohio University in the fall of 2021. AJ Clayton is majoring in Physical Activity and Sports Coaching at Ohio University. This major prepares students for careers in coaching, fitness instruction, and other related fields. It provides students with a strong foundation in exercise science, sport psychology, and coaching techniques. Students learn how to design and implement training programs for athletes and other physically active individuals. They also learn how to motivate and lead others to achieve their fitness goals.
On the court, Clayton has demonstrated impressive skills and athleticism as a player for the Bobcats. With a six-seven frame, he has proven to be a versatile player who can contribute in multiple ways on both ends of the court.
During his freshman season in 2021-22, Clayton played 34 games for the Bobcats and started in four of them. He averaged close to four points per game while shooting over 42.6% from the field and nearly 40% from beyond the arc. He also contributed to rebounding efforts with just about two rebounds per game.
Clayton's performance earned him recognition as one of the top freshmen players in college basketball, being named to the Mid-American Conference All-Freshman Team.
Currently a sophomore, AJ has been able to improve his game by averaging nearly eight points per game and five rebounds per game on 43% shooting with 33% shooting from behind the arc.
