Jarace was born in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. He joined Susquehannock High School in York County, Pennsylvania. In High School, Jarace averaged 18.6 points and 10.3 rebounds in his freshman year. He was rewarded with the first-team All-County and Rookie of the Year awards.
Throughout his school career, Jarace received multiple awards for his impressive performance. He was selected to the All-State First team and regarded as the Pennsylvania Class 5A Player of the Year. Later, in his senior year, Jarace was transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He participated in various tournaments with the IMG Academy and performed excellently in most matches. Jarace led the team to the 2021 National Championship and was regarded as the MVP of the game.
Jarace finished his sophomore season with the IMG Academy, averaging 19.6 points and 6.5 rebounds while playing off the field. The basketball programs organised by IMG Academy are highly appreciated. This academy has trained several NBA players like Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Jaden Springer.
The IMG Academy allowed him to compete against the nation's top players. This proved to be very benefitial for him as it helped him to boost his basketball skills. Jarace Walker committed to the University of Houston in Houston, Texas, on November 4, 2021. He played for the Houston Cougars men’s basketball team in the NCAA Division I competition.
