Jett Howard is a University of Michigan Wolverines basketball player from America. Howard was born on September 14, 2003, in Chicago, Illinois. Howard grew up in an athletic family. Juwan Howard, his father, used to be an NBA player and Jett also has brothers who play at the NCAA Division 1 level. He is also related to Jalen McDaniels and Jaden McDaniels who play in the NBA currently. Howard went to NSU University School for his freshman and sophomore years and then transferred to IMG Academy for his junior and senior year seasons. Besides defending the team’s FHSSA Class 5A State championship in the 2018-19 season, Howard also attended several minicamps as part of the Junior National Team and U16 National Team for the USA. He was adjudged MVP of the Allen Iverson Roundball Classic and took part in the Jordan Brand Classic.
Jett Howard’s Wingspan
Jett Howard has a recorded height of 6 feet and 8 inches (6’8), providing him with an estimated wingspan of 6 feet and 9 inches. While this wingspan of almost 7 feet does not make him a rare find in the eyes of scouts, it indicates an advantage towards his style of play and what he could possibly improve in his game. Presently, Howard is known to be a great shooter, making plays off the ball. This wingspan allows Bailey to create plays above the rim as well. Being a two-way forward can be attributed to his wingspan which enables Howard to contribute effectively to both ends of the floor.
From an offensive standpoint, his long span would allow Howard to maintain more control over the ball and finish over defenders when he is close to the rim. Rather than relying on deriving contact, Howard should easily be able to maneuver his way around the stretched hands of defenders.
From a defensive standpoint, Howard’s wingspan allows him to be a good blocker and stealer. Working on his vertical jump and combining it with his wingspan would allow him to reach for the ball without committing fouls on dribble attempts and shot attempts.
