Marcus Sasser is an excellent role player and Point Guard of the Houston Cougars. The fans and media analysts who have been following Cougars’ Basketball since 2019 are very much aware of sasser’s contribution to the team. After completing High School, Sasser received offers to play College Ball from the likes of UTEP (university of Texas at El Paso), SMU, and Colorado State. Sasser chose UH (university of Houston) and began a new phase in his Basketball Journey.

Markus Sasser’s Wingspan

Wingspan is a common attribute used to analyze player abilities, but is one of the most essential tool for player analysis. In simple definition, the distance between their fingertips when they stretch out their arms is what is called a Wingspan. Marcus Sasser’s wingspan measures at 6 feet 7 inches.

This may not be an impressive measurement but commendable for someone of Sasser’s stature. This impressive length allows him to cover more ground on defense and reach out higher for rebounds or blocks.

Markus Sasser’s other Physical Attributes

Sasser’s wingspan isn’t his only physical aspect worth talking about. His other physical attributes are a part of his overall profile. Marcus Sasser has a decent size for a Point Guard.

At 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing close to 200 pounds, he possesses athleticism, agility, and a good gas tank to play 30 to 35 minutes on the court. His quick reflexes are the reason for his proactive approach to play.

Comparing Markus Sasser’s Wingspan with other Point Guards (NCAA)

Point Guard is a crucial position to play. There is no better Ball-handler and skilled scorer than a point guard. As they are good ball-handlers, it is often their duty to keep possession during crunch time so that they can read the on-court situation and then make the next play. On defense, the point guard will look to attack the ball so as to disrupt possession and create a turnover.

Markus Sasser has been as equally effective on offense as has been on defense in the past couple seasons. Now let’s come to the comparison part:

When compared to other well-performing college basketball point guards, such as Cade Cunningham of Oklahoma State, Markquis Nowell of Kansas State, or Jalen Suggs of Gonzaga University, Marcus Sasser's wingspan may not be quite as long - but it still falls within a competitive range.

For instance, Cade Cunningham's wingspan measures at 7 feet and Jalen Suggs' wingspan is similar to Marcus Sasser's at approximately 6 feet 6 inches. But Markquis Nowell’s Wingspan falls short by 5 inches at 6’ 2”. But that difference is a result of Markquis being only 5 feet 8 inches tall.

Now in his fourth year at Houston, Marcus Sasser has made significant contributions to his team's success on both ends of the court. As he continues to develop his skills and refine his game further over time - including improving upon his already impressive physical attributes - it will be exciting to see what heights he can achieve throughout his collegiate career and beyond.
