Kristaps Porzingis' contract with the Washington Wizards lasts for another year. The power forward originally signed a contract while he was with the Dallas Mavericks as he received $158 million over five years.
Porzingis is currently with the Wizards and is having another great season. He's having arguably the best season of his seven-year NBA career, which is why he'll likely receive a contract extension very soon.
The 7-foot-3 forward is only 27 and could be a major contributor to the Wizards for many years to come. Considering how well he's played this season, he deserves every penny of his contract.

Washington Wizards are interested in extending Kristaps Porzingis' contract
Kristaps Porzingis' contract was signed in the summer of 2019. He was with the Mavericks back then and received $27.2 million for his services in the 2019-20 season.
The 7-3 big man is paid $33.8 million this season and will receive $36 million next season. However, it's important to note that Porzingis has a player option on his contract for the 2023-24 season. This means that he can terminate it and become an unrestricted free agent.
The big man is averaging a career-high 23.2 ppg this season. He's also a decent rebounder and a shot blocker, averaging 8.4 rpg and 1.5 bpg in the current campaign.

According to Shams Charania, the Washington Wizards are interested in extending Kristaps Porzingis' contract. The big man and the team are in serious contract extension talks and could reach an agreement very soon.
The NBA insider claimed that the 27-year-old big man would opt out of his contract this summer. He'd become a free agent and sign a new contract with the Wizards, who can offer him $180 million over four years.
With six games left in the regular season, the Wizards are 11th in the Eastern Conference with a 34-42 record. They are 2.5 games behind the Chicago Bulls (36-39), who currently occupy the last spot for the play-in tournament.
It will be interesting to see if Porzingis can lead the Wizards to the playoffs. However, considering that the regular season ends in less than two weeks, this is very unlikely.
The Wizards acquired Porzingis on Feb. 10, 2022. They traded with the Dallas Mavericks, who received Spencer Dinwiddie and David Bertans.
