Blake Griffin, the Los Angeles Clippers’ Power Forward, is one of the most important members of the team. The 25-year-old star stands at a towering 6 feet 10 inches and currently has an average of 24.5 points per game. This young man has exceptional athleticism which helps him pull off sensational dunks, and he also has above average skills in ball handling and passing.
But one of the common questions a common basketball spectator comes up with is regarding the ethnicity of this power forward. Is he black or white? He has freckles and red hair which lead many to believe that he is white. But are they right?
Well, the right answer is that he is neither; he represents a mixture of both races. The American NBA basketball player was born to an African-American father (Tommy Griffin) and a Caucasian mother (Gail Griffin). Blake, Tommy and Gail are all seen in the picture above.
So Blake is is part Haitian African American and part Caucasian. Combining the genes of these races, this mixed race young man (no offence Mr. Blake Griffin) has become a god-like phenomenon in basketball.
Whatever his race may be, the next few years will determine the true substance of this athlete. These years would tell us whether this young man is destined to be forgotten as time goes by or if he will be remembered as a legend in the NBA. We can only wait and see how his story unfolds.
