Tyrese Maxey's contract is one of the best team-friendly contracts in the NBA. The Philadelphia 76ers combo guard is having the best season of his three-year career and has proven to be a valuable piece of the team.
According to reports, the 6-foot-2 star will likely sign a maximum contract extension soon. Considering how amazing he has been over the past two seasons, this comes as no surprise.
Maxey has played 60 games in the 2022-23 season, averaging a career-high 20.3 points per game. He's also been quite efficient, converting 48.1% of his shots, including 43.4% from long range.

Tyrese Maxey's contract will likely be extended this summer
Tyrese Maxey's contract is coming to an end soon. The 22-year-old guard will receive $2.7 million for his services this season and $4.3 million next year. However, he will be a restricted free agent in the summer of 2024.
The Philadelphia 76ers guard is still on his rookie-scale contract that he signed in 2020. The total duration of the contract is four years, while the total amount of money he will make from it is $12.1 million.
The contract originally had a team option for the final two seasons. However, the Sixers have exercised these options, meaning that the talented playmaker will stay on the team until his contract expires.

Maxey will soon be eligible for a maximum rookie-scale extension. This extension would extend his contract by five years, and he'd receive approximately $200 million from it. His first-year salary would be around $33.6 million.
By signing the extension, Tyrese Maxey's contract would keep him in the City of Brotherly love until at least the summer of 2028.
The 76ers have a lot of fantastic players, including Joel Embiid and James Harden. However, Maxey is the youngest player on the team who is part of the rotation and has shown a lot of potential.
The 6-2 guard went from averaging 8.0 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in his rookie season to 20.3 ppg, 2.9 rpg and 3.5 apg this season. He's also one of the deadliest 3-point shooters in the league.
