The NBA has never seen someone like Victor Wembanyama. The towering center stands taller than even the tallest of the starting centers, while boasting the skills of a guard much smaller than him.

As the Frenchman's stock continued to rise in recent years, he repeatedly blew away scouts, analysts, fans, and players with his abilities.

Standing at 7-foot-2, he boasts of one of the most 'NBA ready' skill sets of any prospect we've seen in recent years. Given his combination of size, athleticism and skills, commissioner Adam Silver recently pleaded with teams to avoid tanking in hopes of drafting the young star.

The idea of potentially drafting a generational talent like Wembanyama is alluring to many, if not all, teams. The way one coach sees it, however, fans watching Wembanyama on TV can't even begin to comprehend his true size.

On the heels of a beatdown at the hands of the youngster, team Lithuania head coach Kestutis Kemzura spoke about his impact on the game, saying:

“You can just imagine his size watching him on the internet… But when a player like Victor comes, you realize his true size. He makes a big impact defensively. Even if we get inside in the paint, we couldn't see the rim.”

The comments, relayed by Donatas Urbonas, came during a press conference following his dominant performance in the World Cup qualifiers. During Team France's 90-65 win, Wembanyama scored 20 points on nearly 50% shooting while grabbing nine rebounds in just 23 minutes.

You can see highlights from his dominant debut for Team France in the video below as they defeated Lithuania in the World Cup qualifiers.

Victor Wembanyama's European career

Much like Luka Doncic before him, he has been tearing it up overseas for years now. Back in 2018, he appeared in a European tournament for players under 14 where he put up a double-double as the team secured third place.

The following year a 15-year-old Wembanyama checked in to a EuroCup game for just 30 seconds, marking his official pro debut.

Despite his size, he didn't have the opportunity to cement his place as a star in the EuroLeague until the 2021-22 season. After signing a three-year contract with ASVEL, Wembanyama began to showcase his true skillset.

Although he only appeared in 13 games, his performances were impressive enough to secure his second straight "LNB Pro A Best Young player award".

Earlier this year, his stock hit an all-time high when he scored 37 points and blocked five shots against the NBA G League Ignite. Regardless of the fact that it was during an exhibition game, the towering young star's stock skyrocketed after the stellar performance.

By most accounts, he is well on his way to being the number one overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft. The only question is, which team will get the opportunity to draft the towering young star.
