Paul George is a professional American basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers. He stands at 6 feet 8 inches and weighs about 220 lbs and plays at the Small Forward position. Nicknamed ”PG-13”, George is most well known for his smooth gameplay and ability to freeze his defenders with his unpredictable ball-handling ability in order to make a shot. He is a 9-time NBA All-Star and a 4-time member of the NBA All-Defensive team, proving his versatility as an elite 2-way player in the NBA. George attended and played for California State University and stayed there for 2 years before declaring for the NBA in 2010.

George was picked with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2010 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers and proved to be an effective addition to the team. He averaged 7.8 points, 1.0 steals, 1.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game in his first season. Gradually, George improved both offensive as well as defensive aspects of his game, including his shooting efficiency. Owing to his improvements, he also won the 2013 NBA Most Improved Player of the Year award. He later started his own podcast, called “Podcast P with Paul George”, which has become very popular among basketball fans due to the personalized nature of the conversations within the show.

Paul George was raised in Los Angeles County in Palmdale, California and attended Knight High School. He has two older sisters, Teiosha and Portala George. As a kid, George idolized Kobe Bryant and spent most of his free time on the court playing against his sister Teiosha. In high school, he was not the most sought-after player but was noticed by recruiters, who saw potential in him. He averaged 23.2 points and 11.2 rebounds as a senior and decided to attend Fresno State for his college education as it was closer to home and had a nice campus.
