Both the Warriors and Kings finished with identical 46-36 records last season and secured their spots in the play-in tournament.
The Golden State Warriors have lost Klay Thompson, a key member of their franchise the past decade, as well as Chris Paul. Thompson moved on to the Dallas Mavericks and Paul signed with the San Antonio Spurs.
Steph Curry and Draymond Green will again lead the Warriors, with Jonanthan Kuminga expected to play a bigger role this season.
Steph Curry led the Warriors in scoring last season with 26.4 points along with also 5.1 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game.
For the Kings, their major offseason addition was six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan from the Chicago Bulls. Adding him to the core that features De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis allows Sacramento to boost its offense with his scoring abilities. The Kings also picked up forward Jalen McDaniels in a trade with the Toronto Raptors.
Domantas Sabonis will be the player to keep an eye on for the Kings. The 6-foot-10 Lithuanian-American star led the team in rebounds (13.7) and assists (8.2) and ranked second in points per game (19.4).
