Could the Spurs era be over?

The San Antonio Spurs bucked their own trend of ignoring big names in the free agency by signing LaMarcus Aldridge last year. In addition to Kawahi Leonard and Greg Popovich, the Spurs still have a strong core which will make them contenders till 2020 at the very least.

It is a near unanimous fact that the Spurs are the best organization in the NBA. That fact holds tremendous appeal for any potential free agent. Their aging core might just be in their last season, though.

The other contenders for Kevin Durant all feature younger players than the Spurs, who will also feel the lack of a playmaker maestro once Tony Parker moves on. But if there is any organization you can trust to hold the ship steady, it is the San Antonio Spurs.
