His Time at John H. Guyer High School

Wilson’s Basketball journey took its first steps at John H. Guyer High School, where he emerged as a talented young Basketball athlete. Throughout his time at John H. Wilson was exceptional on both ends of the court and emerged as a natural leader with excellent court vision.

In his senior year, he averaged 21 points while shooting over 50% from the field and earned Class 6A All-State Honors.

Committing to the University of Kansas

Following his amazing High School stint, he became a consensus four-star recruit and was ranked the 46th best High School player in the country. Over offers from North Carolina, Michigan and others, Jalen committed to play for the Kansas Jayhawks under the mentorship and coaching of Bill Self.

Due to injury, Jalen missed the entirety of his first season without scoring a single point. After a complete recovery, he made his much-awaited comeback and impressed many with his abilities. Jalen started in 26 of 29 games played and averaged nearly twelve points per game on 41% shooting.

Jalen continued to develop into one of Kansas' top performers by putting together several standout performances throughout their campaign. The 2021-22 season was not any different in terms of points averaged but he did deliver when the team needed the most. A collective team effort led the Jayhawks to their fourth NCAA Title.

The 2022-23 season is when Jalen exploded as a Star Forward, becoming a reliable contributor to the team. Jalen averaged 20 points per game on 43% shooting; his best scoring stats in all four seasons of his College Ball Career.

While the team couldn’t repeat its previous season’s title win, Jalen did earn notable accolades for his efforts. Jalen Wilson received the Julius Erving Award and was voted the Big 12 Conference Player of the Year.

Overall, Jalen Wilson's impressive performances both at John H. Guyer High School and with Kansas reflect not only remarkable talent but also dedication towards honing his craft day by day. If his college Basketball career is anything to go by, there is no doubt that we will continue seeing even greater things from him in future seasons!
