Many were surprised that Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has another famous relative. The rising NBA star started to make a name for himself in the basketball industry and many claimed that NASCAR driver Rajah Caruth is related to him.
According to BroBible.com, both Edwards and Caruth share the same father, Roger Caruth. Unfortunately, the two have not been vocal about their relationship. Also, the article written by Clay Sauertieg claimed that Roger wasn't present in the life of the basketball star.
Rajah is a 22-year-old professional stock car racing driver. He drives the No. 71 Chevrolet Silverado for Spire Motorsports. He is the third black driver to win in one of NASCAR's three national series after winning the 2024 Victoria's Voice Foundation 200. He joined Wendell Scott and Bubba Wallace.
According to his Wikipedia page, Caruth's love for racing started at an early age when he first saw the iconic Pixar animated movie, Cars. His dreams of becoming a racing driver were even more ignited when he was 12 and the young racer's parents took him to his first NASCAR race.

In 2018, his family fundraised for an iRacing sim and started his virtual racing career when he was 16. He caught the attention of the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Program while he was virtually racing for the eNASCAR Ignite Series. This led him to participate at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2019. At that time, he was still a senior in high school.
"You have a reset button on [iRacing], so there’s almost zero consequences for crashing," Caruth said. "Versus in real life, you slip a tire at one point or place your vehicle in a spot it shouldn’t be in, it’s game over."
Anthony Edwards' brother has made it to the top 10 12 times in his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series career.
Anthony Edwards' half-brother is close to the legendary Bubba Wallace
One of the people who has helped Anthony Edwards' half-brother, Caruth, is Bubba Wallace. According to his Wikipedia page, Wallace serves as his mentor during races and has guided him from the start. Their friendship was tested during the Fresh From Florida 250 when the young racer had a crash on the track.
The two were seen in a heated exchange after the events, with Wallace doing more of the talking. But Caruth dismissed speculations that they weren't in a good place as friends.
"It wasn’t anything serious, just talking about what had just happened on the race track because I hadn’t seen the replay yet, but he’s been there for me since I first started," Caruth said.
Anthony Edwards' brother is in great hands as his mentor is a six-time race winner.
