From parents to siblings, Michael Porter Jr.'s family has two generations of basketball players. Every member of the family has either played at the collegiate or high school level. Now, Porter Jr.'s younger sister Jayda Porter is making a name for herself in high school basketball.

Jayda is 20 years old and plays as a sophomore at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri. The youngest of all Porter siblings, Jayda is perhaps the best player on her team. She has shown her impact on both ends of the floor.

According to the ranking released by ESPN in April, Jayda was ranked among the top 25 high school women's basketball players in the country for the 2026 class. She was ranked 19th on the list. According to ESPN, Jayda is listed at 6-foot-3 and plays at the forward position.

Jayda Porter is not the first among her sisters to play basketball. Her older sisters Bri and Cierra Porter also played college basketball for the University of Missouri. She has five brothers who also play basketball.

Her brothers Michael Porter Jr., Jontay Porter, Coban Porter, Jevon Porter and Izzak Porter all play basketball. MPJ plays for the Denver Nuggets. Jontay played for the Toronto Raptors, however, he was suspended from the league after betting violations.

Coban also played for the University of Denver. He was sentenced to eight years of prison after being found guilty of murder in a driving under the influence case. Jevon plays basketball for Pepperdine and Izzak is still in high school. He also plays basketball at Father Tolton's Catholic High School in Missouri.

Michael Porter Jr.'s parents also played college basketball. Lisa Porter played for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 1983-87. Michael Porter Sr. played for the University of New Orleans from 1986-89.

Michael Porter Jr. shows love to sister Jayda Porter's latest photoshoot in Jay Hawks apparel

Earlier today, on October 7, Jyada Porter posted a series of pictures in the Kansas Jayhawks women's basketball jersey on her Instagram.

The pics seemed to be from a photo shoot for the team and something that suggested that she had committed to Jayhawks. However, that wasn't the case, and she made it clear through the caption of the post.

"💙!? #notcommitted."

Her older brother Michael Porter Jr. commented on the post. Showing love to his sister, Porter Jr. wrote:

"Tuff Jayda."

She also posed with Jayhawks head coach Brandon Schneider. Given how good Jyada has been in her high school career, Kansas Jayhawks would be open to welcoming her in 2026.

This is not the first time that Jyada Porter has appeared for a photo shoot for a college basketball team. Previously, she had also posted pictures from the photo shoot for Nebraska Cornhuskers and Oklahoma State Cowgirls.
