Who is Steph Curry's brother, Seth Curry? Have they ever played together? Exploring their NBA journeys

Portland Trail Blazers v Golden State Warriors - Game Two
Steph Curry and Seth Curry's NBA journey

Seth Curry is the younger brother of Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry. Seth currently plays for the Brooklyn Nets. Unlike his older brother, Seth has been a journeyman in the NBA and has played for eight different teams.

The last four teams he played on, the Portland Trail Blazers, Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets, were all championship contenders and he was integral to their system.

He is one of the best role players in the league and is a coveted target for contenders whenever he hits the market. The Curry brothers faced each other 13 times in the regular season and one playoff series in 2019. Steph holds a 13-4 record against his brother: 9-4 in the regular season and 4-0 in the playoffs.

Steph Curry and Seth Curry's career arcs have been significantly different. The former achieved MVP status and secured all four championship rings that made their way into the Curry house. He did so while playing for one franchise throughout his career.

Have Seth Curry and Steph Curry played together?

Seth has played for multiple teams but is yet to team up with his brother Steph, who has played for the Golden State Warriors since his debut. Both players play the same position.

Seth has been a starting guard for most of his career, and with Steph and Klay Thompson as the Warriors' designated backcourt pairing, he wasn't getting a shot at playing significant minutes, even off the bench. Seth also earns a decent salary, and the Dubs wouldn't have had the flexibility to sign him.

Seth Curry's minutes, on-court fit and skillset don't make him a good fit for the Warriors. Seth can shoot the ball well, but his lack of size and length would've hampered the Dubs defensively.

Meanwhile, Steph Curry became the franchise cornerstone for the Dubs. After coming close to getting traded early in his career, the two-time MVP has been untouchable in trade talks after leading the team to four titles in eight years. Steph is also the face of the NBA along with LeBron James and ranks just second behind the LA Lakers superstar in terms of popularity.
