Legends are made in March, and at the top of this list this year is Tobin Anderson.
The Fairleigh Dickinson coach led his team to become the second No. 16 in NCAA Tournament history to defeat a No. 1 seed by taking down Purdue in the first round. This 63-58 victory will likely be the most memorable part of the tournament and changed Anderson's career trajectory in a massive way.
Among those most impacted was his wife, Jodi Anderson. The two were married on Aug. 2, 2002. She can be seen in the arena for most games, which was the case during the victory over Purdue.
Tobin's wife is a Kentucky native who graduated from Lafayette High School in 1995. She studied special education at the University of Tennessee, where she graduated from in 1999. Jodi works as a special education teacher at Felix Festa Middle School, where she has been for the past nine years.
The couple has two children: Bryce and Alexa Anderson. Bryce, 17, is the oldest and can be seen playing in and attending a variety of sporting events on the family's social media. Alexa was born in 2009 and has already become an avid workout fan. Both were in the arena for the historic win over Purdue.
What's next for Tobin Anderson?
Tobin Anderson and the rest of the family are in for some massive changes. After scrapping his path to a Division I opportunity over the past few years, Anderson established himself as one of the country's top coaches with this year's success.
Iona University on Tuesday announced it has reached a five-year deal with Anderson to become the Gaels' next coach. After Rick Pitino left the program to lead St. John's, the position became available. This will be a massive step forward in competition for Anderson and could serve as a stepping stone to getting a Power Five job in the future.
Iona is located just 20.4 miles away from Fairleigh Dickinson, so the transition should not be too difficult for the family. Anderson has more than paid his dues since becoming an assistant coach in 1996 and has the necessary basketball IQ and charisma to have success. March Madness was a life-changing event for Tobin Anderson, and it will be exciting to see what is in store for him in the future.
