5 reasons why the Golden State Warriors are unstoppable this season

The Golden State Warriors have just lost 7 times this season with a record of 62-7 and are on course to match or even beat the ultimate record of 72-10 set by Bulls during the 95-96 season. The Bulls accomplished something that was never done before or since but this Golden State Warriors team led by Steph Curry might be able to get it done.

The defending champions were questioned whether it was luck that help them secure the title rather than talent but that notion was crush when they began the season with 20-0 record and looked unstoppable. It's like nobody knows how to stop the Warriors but why are they so good.

Here are five reasons why GSW are unstoppable:

Small Ball

There is no line up in current NBA that is better than that of Warriors “small ball” lineup with Green at centre. Every player in the team can shoot and handle the ball, on defence all but Steph can switch. This line-up has dominated the league, outscoring the opponent and defending equally good.

Steph Curry gave his view on other teams trying to copy small ball lineup "There isn't another Draymond Green, another Klay, another Andre. If you put your small-ball lineup next to ours, we like our chances.”

Shooter

There is no team in NBA that can shoot as well as the Warriors and their three-pointers are better than two pointers. The Dub nation leads the league in three-point field goal percentage with .415 and three-pointer made with 894. This indicates that they are money from three point land.

The backcourt of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson one of the top three in the league but the other players in team are also very good shooters and can stretch the floor making it very difficult to defend the Warriors, which is why there are so many mismatches while defending Warriors.

Love to play together

They are one team that loves to play together. Warriors play beautiful basketball, getting everyone involved and making sure the best shot is taken. The ball movement is something that makes you love this team, so unselfish and willing do anything for the team is simply amazing.

“That’s what we do. We want to move the ball,” Coach Steve Kerr said. “We have a very skilled roster of playmakers and shooters and they’re committed to each other they’re unselfish and we feel we should get 30 assists. We’re going to play fast, a lot of possessions … we’ve got to make shots and we do that when we’re moving the ball. We got away from that early in the game and we finally started moving it and changed the tempo.”

The opponent not only have to contain Steph and Klay who can win games single-handedly but also focus on Green who is capable of dishing out 10 assists. Playing together and getting everyone involved is key to Warriors success so far.

Solid Defence

Warriors are offensively sound, averaging around 115.3 points per game and their assist rate is also one of the best in the league but what many forget is that they are very strong defensively. They are second best (first Spurs) in points allowed per game and tied for fourth in steals per game which speaks volume.

If Warriors can hold their own on the defensive end then they will be very difficult to beat.

Steph Curry

The reigning MVP is playing some godly basketball, whether it’s dropping half line game winning shot or making the opponent look stupid with crazy step back three points or just dishing out amazing assists, it’s a joy to watch him play.

The Baby Faced Assassin is averaging 30.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game, top that he is shooting 46.2% from the field and 43.7 from downtown. Chef Curry is on course to win back to back MVP honours and if he continues like this for rest of the season and also during playoffs then it’s hard to imagine any defence stopping him.

Golden State Warriors are the team to beat. We have to wait and see if they can match or beat the famous 72-10 record. Till then enjoy watching the Warriors play.
