Hosts Xavier International College and Saipal Academy lifted the Boys’ and Girls’ title respectively of the First Xavier International (U19) +2 Inter – College Basketball Tournament Championship here at Kathmandu, Nepal.
In the final match of the boys category of the championship, hosts Xavier International College beat Trinity International College 75 – 61 to lift the title while Saipal Academy beat Golden Gate International College 50 – 41 to lift the girls title.
Binesh Neupane of Xavier International College was named Boys’ MVP while Upama Pokhrel of Saipal Academy was named the Girls’ MVP of the championship.
The championship was held among the 10+2 colleges of Nepal with only U19 players allowed to participate. 24 Boys and 16 girls teams participated in the event which was held from August 16 to 23, 2013.
