CBS Sports' "We Need To Talk" women sports show recently posted a reel of Hannah Hidalgo and Arike Ogunbowale. In the almost minute-long video, Ogunbowale was seen surprising the current Notre Dame star as she conducted interviews with the energy drink company Redbull.

Hidalgo was being asked about her thoughts on the 2018 Fighting Irish team that went all the way to the NCAA national championship and won it by Ogunbowale's buzzer-beating title-clinching three-pointer against Mississippi State. The 5'5" dynamo said that's all she could remember about it, sharing:

"2018? Arike's shot? That's all I remember. I remember I was cheering against them. I wanted whoever they were playing to win." (0:05)

She was then interrupted by Ogunbowale, who unexpectedly appeared beside her, saying:

"I did what?" the Dallas Wings guard said as he emulated the shot. (0:11)

The 19-year-old standout then stood up to embrace Ogunbowale, who was congratulating her on the signing. Hidalgo then quickly realized that they were almost the same height.

"You a little shorter than I thought," Hidalgo said in curiosity before Ogunbowale responded with, "Yeah, I'm not that tall." (0:28)

About a day ago, it was announced that Hidalgo was going to be signed to the brand via a NIL deal wherein she will be joining the likes of LSU's Mikaylah Edwards, South Carolina's MiLaysia Fulwiley, and Ogunbowale.

This is one of the several opportunities that has gone Hidalgo's way as a result of her stellar sophomore season. Other brands, such as New Era and VKTRY, have also landed the budding star as a part of their brand's initiatives for what could be a bright future for Hidalgo.

in the 2024-25 season, Hidalgo is averaging 25.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 4.0 steals. Hidalgo and the Fighting Irish will meet the visiting Eastern Michigan Eagles on Sunday.

Hidalgo believes her team will win against the 2018 squad

Later on in the reel, Ogunbowale posed a bold question to Hidalgo. She asked the spitfire player to answer who she would take in a game: the 2018 Notre Dame or the current version? Hidalgo has all the confidence, however, that her team would beat that of Ogunbowale's, sharing:

"Imma go with us because I got a lot of faith on my team. I wouldn't want us to you know," as she signaled towards the ground. (0:40)

We may never see these two teams ever squaring off, but we could see an Ogunbowale versus Hidalgo matchup in the near future whenever the latter declares for the WNBA Draft. Hidalgo is considered a lottery pick as a result of her recent performances.
