Zion Williamson got hurt once again after straining his hamstring last night. The New Orleans Pelicans went up against the Philadelphia 76ers in a 120-111 defeat. Williamson was able to play three quarters before he strained his right hamstring. He exited the game with 26 points, seven assists, and six rebounds. He was also on fire shooting 83.3% from the field.
Such a shame that Zion Williamson had to make an exit early. At the rate that he was going, fans could've witnessed a 35 to 40-point outing from Williamson. Nevertheless, it was a good decision by the Pelicans to keep their superstar out of the game before he could hurt it any further. Having Zion in the lineup is vital at the moment, especially considering that Brandon Ingram is yet to make his return.
According to CBS Sports, there aren't any updates regarding how long Williamson will be out. Pelicans head coach Willie Green was only able to confirm the injury but couldn't determine when their superstar will return. Coach Green mentioned that Zion will have a thorough examination as soon as possible to determine the extent of his injury.
“It was right at a pivotal moment in the game,” Green said. “We’ll get some imaging and look at him and hopefully he’s OK. It was a tough loss for us.”

Zion Williamson has been impressive so far this season
Ever since returning from his foot injury, Zion Williamson has been on fire for the New Orleans Pelicans. Despite not having his co-superstar Brandon Ingram by his side, Williamson was able to carry the team to the top of the West. What's even more impressive is the fact that he has managed to stay healthy for the majority of the season thus far.
Zion Williamson is known to be a fragile player in terms of his body's durability. For him to be able to play 29 out of 37 games this season is absolutely amazing. It just proves that the Pelicans star is doing everything he can to stay healthy for the team. So far, Zion has averaged 26 points, seven rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per game this year. He is also shooting an efficient 60.8% FG.
Fans shouldn't worry too much about Williamson's absence. It's safe to say that New Orleans is just being cautious about the situation. Taking a few losses without him in the lineup is better than not having him at all for the rest of the season. If everything goes well, fans expect to see Zion come back sooner rather than later.
