With Krafton’s recent social media posts, Battlegrounds Mobile India’s (BGMI) comeback to the Indian gaming scene has been confirmed. Since last Friday, May 19, Krafton has urged Indian gamers to turn on their notifications, re-igniting the excitement and enthusiasm among the mobile gaming community. Players are excited to know everything about the game before its servers come online. One of the things fans are most excited to know about is the maps currently available in the game.
This battle royale title will take players on a journey through their favorite natural terrains through the different maps available in the game. Here are some brief descriptions of the different types of maps available in the game.
BGMI unban: all the available and expected maps, their hot drop zones, and more
Before discussing the best in-game map, players must know that BGMI currently has six classic maps to help them choose an environment of their liking. The maps are as follows:
- Erangel
- Sanhok
- Karakin
- Miramar
- Livik
- Vikendi
This list includes the desert island of Miramar, the snowy hills of Vikendi, the classic Erangle map, and others. Check out the list to learn everything you need to know about these maps before BGMI returns.
Erangle
Erangle was the ‘OG’ map of this battle royale title, among the most popular maps. The Russian island of Erangle is situated in the Black Sea, once controlled by the Russian military.
This 8 x 8 km map includes a big main island and a smaller one in the southern part. The most famous hot drop zones are Sosnovka military base, Rozhok, Pochinki, Georgepool, and Novorepnoye.
Miramar
This is another excellent map to try after BGMI unban. Miramar is the largest among the maps available in the game after Erangle. This map has the most land in the game, making this 4 x 4 km desert terrain the largest among its counterparts.
This desert island has a few giant mountains in its northern and western parts. The developers created this map based on a Mexican theme. Hacienda Del Patron, Los Leones, Water Treatment, San Martin, and El Pozo are some of the best hot drop zones on this map.
Sanhok
This tropical island is considered one of the favorite Battlegrounds Mobile India maps for players. It is filled with dark, dense jungles like those in Thailand and the Philippines. Sanhok was introduced as a small map in the game where the developers connected three tiny islands with small rivers.
Sanhok provides engaging gameplay with its small size and a lot of loot. Pain Nan, Ruins, Bootcamp, and Paradise Resorts are some of the hot drop zones for players on the map.
Vikendi
Vikendi was the fourth map to be introduced to the game after Erangle, Miramar, and Sanhok. However, this map was removed from the game momentarily. The developers brought this map back in November of last year. The snowy hills of this map are one of the favorites for BGMI players. Volcano, Peshkova Mansion, Castle, and Cosmodrome are hot drop zones for Vikendi.
This snow-covered terrain is among the smaller maps in the game. However, like Sanhok, lots of loot and unique vehicles make the gameplay much more exciting. Snowmobiles, snow bikes, and Zima are some of the vehicles unique to this map.
Livik
Livik is BGMI’s first 2 x 2 km map. Despite being small, it has one of the game's most beautiful and colorful terrains. Developers have created this map by gathering some unique and best bits from the other maps. Here is everything you need to know about BGMI unban.
Livik, however, also has the P90 SMG, the MK12, and the monster truck, which makes this map unique, and different from all the others. East Port, Shipyard, Power Plant, and Midstein are the hot drop zones of this map.
Karakin
This is the latest BGMI map players expect after BGMI unban in India. This is a desert terrain, just like Miramar. However, it does not have any big hills or valleys.
The most exciting part about this map is that Karakin is filled with underground tunnels. Al Hayik, Al Habar, Bashara, Bahr Sahir, and Hadiqa Nemo are the best drop locations on this map so far.
As far as we know, Karakin has some unique features, such as:
- Instead of the Red Zone, there will be a demolition zone. It will be smaller than the red zone, but its buildings will be destroyed.
- Frag Grenades are changed into sticky bombs. Players can stick them to any surface to break through walls or other obstacles.
- The game has a Panzerfaust rocket launcher that the players can use only once. The rockets fired from it will explode within a six-meter radius.
These are the available maps players. They are eager to try after BGMI unban in India. Battleground Mobile India was introduced to Indian gamers after PUBG got banned from the country along with other Chinese apps.
However, it got banned again in July 2022 due to allegations of receiving Chinese funding. After being banned for ten months, the game returns to India for a three-month trial period, during which government officials will monitor it closely.
Additionally, the server for the game has been down since May 19, 2023. You can find its expected return date and learn more about it here.
