Following a hiatus of nine and a half months, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is all set to make its highly-anticipated return to the Indian gaming market. Krafton made the official announcement on 19 May, sending the entire gaming community into a frenzy.
However, just before the announcement, the in-game servers were taken offline, preventing players from accessing their beloved Battle Royale title. As of now (22 May), the servers remain offline, and the developers are yet to release a statement as to when gamers across the country will finally be able to play the updated variant of the game.
BGMI players continue to face login errors when trying to play the game
As mentioned earlier, gamers have been unable to play the title and have been receiving a message prompt from Krafton that highlights that the company is working tirelessly to ensure a hassle-free gaming experience. The message reads:
"Hello BGMI Fan! BGMI servers will be unavailable for a while to come up with a better and bigger experience. While we are working to give you a seamless experience, your account will be safe, and your progress till now will be retained. We will keep you informed of further developments and the release date through our social media platforms."
While players touch the screen, the aforementioned message fades away, revealing another message confirming that the servers are still offline.
It reads:
"Server is not online yet. Please check the official news for information regarding availability. Thank you for your understanding."
However, players and lovers of the BR title should not be disheartened. They are advised to follow Battlegrounds Mobile India's social media handles to learn more about the unban date and when the developers will make the servers functional again.
BGMI set to be unbanned for a trial period of three months under certain conditions
Battlegrounds Mobile India is finally getting unbanned, and the comeback might happen any time soon. However, the return of the popular title will be temporary as the MeitY (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) will be keeping a close eye on it for three months.
During this trial period, the Indian government will strictly monitor the actions of gamers. This was clearly stated in a recent tweet made by Rajeev Chandrasekhar (GOI's Union Minister).
The game is touted to undergo several changes, including the reduction of blood and gore. However, much to the relief of players, the Battlegrounds Mobile India's unban will also witness many new features that improve the BR gaming experience.
