The third iteration of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) is set to kick off soon, as Krafton revealed its teaser on Saturday (August 3, 2024). The renowned tournament has the same prize pool as its inaugural edition, i.e., ₹2 crore. Its Grand Finals is scheduled for September 2024. The publisher will reveal its all details in the coming few days.
The first official announcement about the upcoming BMPS event was made during the BGIS 2024 Finals in June. This tournament will also adopt a 10-point scoring structure. This will be the second official event of Battlegrounds Mobile India in 2024.
BMPS 2024 will start right after the conclusion of the ongoing BGMI Masters Series (BGMS) Season, which is a third-party major event hosted by Nodwin Gaming in Delhi. This Masters Series tournament started on July 19 and will conclude on August 11, 2024.
BMPS 2024 to feature several top-tier BGMI teams
Many popular teams will be invited to compete in the upcoming Pro Series. Some top teams from the BGIS 2024 will also receive invites for the tournament. Recently, several clubs like Revenant, Orangutan, Entity Gaming, and others made big changes to their BGMI lineup, following their disappointing results in the BGIS.
A few organizations added new players to their squad to boost their potential and performance. Team GodLike acquired Punk, while Carnival Gaming added Spower ahead of the BGMS Season 3. However, many renowned teams have been struggling in the initial stages of this ongoing tournament.
Team XSpark, led by Shadow, was crowned BGIS 2024 champions, earning the first official BGMI title for the club. Global Esports, led by Mavi, finished as runner-ups. Reckoning Esports surprised everyone with their teamwork and strategy, achieving the third position.
Global and Reckoning are also performing well in the League Stage of the BGMS Season 3, but Team XSpark and many others are facing challenges in the league. All teams will hope to find their momentum ahead of the BMPS 2024.
Team Soul was the undisputed winner of the 2022 edition of the Pro Series. The Omega-led lineup dominated the inaugural edition of the event. Blind Esports came out victorious in the second edition, held in late 2023. The winning lineup of the previous season now plays for Team Soul.
It would be fascinating to see whether Krafton implements a new format in the BMPS 2024. The Pro Series Grand Finals will be organized across four days from September 26 to 29 in Kochi, Kerala.
