Krafton recently announced the temporary unban of the popular battle-royale title BGMI for a trial period of three months in India. Popular esports streamer Mortal took to social media to share his excitement. With a short and cryptic tweet that reads, "'It's a matter of few more days,' Mortal has sparked a lot of excitement and anticipation among his millions of fanbase.
Known for his exceptional snipping skills, Mortal's tweet has ignited hope for the title fans, who have eagerly awaited the battle royale's return for almost a year. As we all eagerly wait for the shooter title's official return, Mortal's tweet assures a triumphant comeback of BGMI in the Indian gaming scene, although on a temporary trial period for the first three months.
BGMI to make a comeback for a three-month trial under the government's watchful eyes
Indian regulatory body MeitY has decided to lift the ongoing ban on BGMI for three months. The battle-royale game will finally make a comeback with some changes and adjustments. Initial reports suggest that the game will be under strict monitoring for the initial duration of three months. The government policy states that if the battle-royale title violates any imposed rules, the title will be banned again.
Furthermore, there will be certain time restrictions regarding how many hours players can indulge in the game. The government has also issued an order to reduce the amount of violent graphic content. For instance, changing the color of blood showcased in the game from red to blue or green.
Before the ban last year, BGMI already had the option to change the color of the blood from red to green if the players wished to change. Now, the government has ordered Krafton to make the green or blue color of the blood the default setting.
There are still no official announcements from Krafton's end regarding the BGMI unban dates. However, with Mortal confirming the news, we expect the fan-favorite battle-royale title to be officially re-released anytime soon.
Meanwhile, Krafton, through their Instagram handle, has already announced that the game has received the green signal from the Indian government, albeit for 90 days.
This is what Krafton's official announcement read:
“We are excited to announce that Battlegrounds Mobile India will be available for download soon and we cannot wait to welcome you back to our platform. We believe in the power of gaming to bring people together and create unforgettable experiences. We are committed to delivering exceptional products and services to our users in India and beyond, and we look forward to continuing our journey with you.”
While we eagerly await the game's arrival, the official dates are yet to arrive. However, with MeitY giving the green signal for the trial phase, Krafton actively posting job listings for BGMI in India, and Mortal's reassuring tweet, it is safe to conclude that everybody's favorite battle-royale title will be out again anytime soon. So, keep regular tabs on Sportskeeda for further updates on the BGMI unban saga.
