On December 15, 2024, Krafton officially hinted at its first upcoming BGMI tournament of 2025. The company posted a 28-second video on the social media pages of Krafton India Esports, featuring a shadow image of the logo of the Battlegrounds Mobile India series (BGIS). However, the publisher didn't mention anything directly related to the BGIS in this announcement.
The 2024 season of the BGMI Esports has already ended — two official tournaments hosted with a total prize pool of ₹4 crore. Teams and players are now preparing themselves for the 2025 season. In the meantime, the Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6, a third-party event by ESL and Snapdragon, is currently underway and will run until February 2, 2025.

In its last announcement post on Krafton India Esports' YouTube channel, the publisher told fans and players to prepare themselves for the most-anticipated Battlegrounds Mobile India tournament yet. The company mentioned:
"Something big is coming. Prepare yourself for the most anticipated BGMI esports event. We can't reveal the secrets just yet, but trust us, you don't want to miss what's next. Stay tuned, stay hyped, and get ready to witness the future of gaming unfold."
Krafton has organized BGIS as the first tournament in all the previous seasons, and it seems that they will host the fourth edition of BGIS in early 2025. It is a major open-to-all esports event, where several teams from across India fight against one another for a massive prize pool.
Many famous clubs have already started preparing their squads for the 2025 season. They are also gearing up for the Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6, whose initial phases are currently underway. This grand event boasts ₹1 crore in prize pool. Several underdogs are playing in the tournament. A total of 16 popular clubs have also been invited to the Season 6.
Krafton organized two major BGMI tournaments this year, including BGIS and BMPS. Team XSpark, led by Shadow, emerged as undefeated champions in both the official tournaments in 2024. The club has recently partnered with Revenant Esports and formed Revenant XSpark.
Apart from these two official events, the year saw many third-party tournaments like the BGMS Season 3 and Snapdragon Pro Series. Teams and fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing several major events in the upcoming 2025 season.
